What are Save The Date Photo Cards?

A save the date photo card includes a photo of the engaged couple, the date of your wedding, and the location of your wedding. Save the date photo cards are usually sent 3 to 6 months in advance of your wedding date. Most couples send out save the date cards to give their guests more time to plan for your wedding. This is especially important if you have guests arriving from out of town or if you are planning a destination wedding. Although, Save the Date Photo Cards are the perfect way to let your friends and family know your wedding date months in advance they are not to be used in lieu of a formal invitation.

The wording for a save the date photo card is usually very simple and to the point. Here are some examples:

[couples names] are tying the knot on [date of wedding] please join us at [location] formal invitation to follow.

Save the date [couples names] are getting married [date] in [location] Formal invitation to follow.
